IKON Launches in San Francisco

After 14 months of "on the ground" preparation, IKON Christian Community launched with a bang! Church planter Aaron Monts shared…

With a tremendous sense of anticipation and a great deal of excitement and exuberance we publicly revealed to the city of San Francisco our hopes and dreams for what we hope to be and how we hope to contribute to making this city better than it already is.  Many of the stories of connectivity are still coming in but we were excited to see so many new faces join us and fill out connect cards because of the post cards they were handed by a missions team from Forefront Church in New York City, or because of the full sized MUNI ads we ran in the public transit. 

It was truly an amazing morning, and one that is hard to completely put into words.  Perhaps one of the things that I will remember most about the morning is knowing that over 10,000 people were praying for us on Sunday morning.  There were churches from all over the country who took time out of their services to pray for us as a community and very literally give birth to our church in a movement of prayer.  It's both humbling and exciting to know that so many of you were a part of making that happen.

IKON launched on Sunday morning with a bang, and it's because of all of your support and prayers that we will begin to see something new and different truly take place in the city of San Francisco.  Thank you for risking alongside of us and enabling us to pursue this dream.
